Eric Morcambe is reborn in a biographical play about the comedian's life

If you’re dating in London and the surrounding areas, take you date to the theatre to see Morecambe, a biographical play celebrating the comedians life.

For an entire generation the Morecambe and Wise Christmas show was the highlight of Christmas Day.   In 1977 they had 28 million viewers – half of the UK population watching at the same time.

Eric Morecambe died at the age of fifty-eight in 1984, but in the twenty five years since his untimely final curtain, his popularity has not waned. With numerous tribute programmes, TV re-runs and DVD releases, his work as one half of Britain’s most popular double act ever, has been kept alive and introduced to a whole new generation of fans.

Now the first biographical play about Eric Morecambe opens at The Duchess theatre in December for a strictly limited run starring Bob Golding as Eric Morecambe, and directed by Guy Masterton.  The play is a fictional account, inspired by Morecambe’s life and whilst many of the events and characters described in the play are real, the story and words are those imagined by the playwright. Age isn’t a barrier to dating – it’s an advantage!  Dating in your 50s is just as exciting as it was in your 20s or 30s, and it’s far more satisfying too.

You’re never too old to date or look for romance, companionship and someone to share both the exciting and mundane moments of life – and that’s why so many of us over 50s are flocking to online dating.   Read on to discover why age is an advantage when you’re dating.

You Know Yourself

It is a cliché, but by the time we’re in our 50s, we’re older, wiser and know ourselves much better than we did when we were in our 20s and 30s. We know what we want, what will complement our life and what our boundaries are far more than we did when we were younger – and because of this, we’re more successful daters. Continue reading »

Dating Advice: How To Write A Winning Profile

November 24th, 2009

Write a winning profile that will get you noticed for all the right reasons.

Write a winning profile that will get you noticed for all the right reasons.

Here's how to write a profile that will get you noticed for all the right reasons.

It can be daunting writing your dating profile; what should you say, how long should it be and how do you make it interesting?  Here’s how to get noticed for all the right reasons.

First Impressions Count

Think of your profile and photo as your calling card; this is your first impression so make sure it counts! Anyone who visits your page will decide whether or not they want to hear from you, contact you, or meet up with you on the basis of your profile.

When you first join, take a look around DatingAgency.com to see what other members do, so you can see what looks great and what sounds dreadful. We’re sure you’ll agree that there’s nothing worse than a one line profile that says; ‘I don’t know what to write here. If you want to know anything, just ask.’ This just makes the person sound dull, uninteresting and lazy, and if you do this whilst paying to be a full member, you’re just wasting your money! It’s a truly British film with a stellar cast of actors which uses the weeks preceding the outbreak of World War 2 as the backdrop for this psychological thriller.

The summer of 1939 had been golden and dominated by some of the greatest parties the aristocracy had ever held – yet it turned into an autumn where the survival of democracy was hanging by a thread.  Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was at the forefront of the movement to appease Hitler, whilst a small group of forward-thinking politicians led by Winston Churchill advocated the need to go to war and face the Nazi threat head-on. Where do you stand in the cougar debate?   Is a woman dating a man younger than her a new phenomenon, or is the media blowing it all out of proportion?

The tabloids and broadsheets have been awash with reports on ‘cougars’ – women who date men younger than themselves.  It all started when a Parship survey revealed that 35% of women in their 40s, 50s and 60s would date a man at least five years younger – when five years ago the figure was just 8%.
